Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is growing—and that’s wonderful news for the cats. Through the dedication of our staff, volunteers, fosters, and supporters, we have been able to save more lives than ever before.
So far this year, our intake has increased by an incredible 38%. That means hundreds more cats and kittens have come through our doors needing shelter, medical care, foster homes, socialization, and ultimately, loving forever families.
While we’re proud that we’ve been able to say “yes” to so many cats in need, this growth also means we need more helping hands than ever before. Every additional cat requires feeding, cleaning, medical care, enrichment, paperwork, and lots of love. Without volunteers, we simply couldn’t do what we do.
Whether you have a few hours each week or just a few hours each month, there is a place for you at Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue. We provide training and will help you find a role that matches your interests and abilities. There are many different volunteer opportunities. Pretty much something for everyone. Take a look at the list below and see where you could help out!
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old to volunteer
- Must be able to commit to scheduled volunteer times
- Must be able to squat, bend, twist, lift and stand for long periods of time when working directly with the cats in our care
- Socialization positions are more sedentary
- Must be able to work well with people – all volunteer positions may work directly with the public, staff, and other volunteers
- Must be able to handle cats safely and compassionately
- Must be able to take and seek direction and have a self-motivated work ethic
- Must be able to work independently
- Eight (8) hours per month commitment for at least 3 months (some volunteer positions require a regular, consistent schedule; others do not)
Every volunteer makes a difference. Whether you’re cuddling kittens, answering phones, sorting donations, or helping behind the scenes, your time directly impacts the lives of homeless cats.
