    • Hi Kim, Thanks for your interest in Abby. You can call the adoption center, 623-876-8778, and they would be happy to answer any questions.

  1. I am hosting a comedy show fundraiser for multiple rescues in Arizona. The date is June 1st. Would you be interested in participating?

    Thank you
    Christa

  2. Hi,
my name is Christina and I work as a receptionist for an Animal Hospital. Two days ago someone dropped off a cat (male, not neutered, about 1 yr old, white, and two colored eyes). Our clinic had him tested for Felv/Fiv and he is FIV positive. I was wondering if you know of a shelter who takes in cats with special needs. Having a FIV positive cat myself I know that they can lead a long and happy live and I do not want him to be euthanized. The cat of course will be treated, tested for parasites, neutered and vaccinated at our clinic. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

    • Hi Christina,
Boy, that kitty is sure lucky to have you looking out for him. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to intake FIV+ kitties. You might want to check with Best Friendsat http://www.bestfriends.org as they have a special community outreach service in which they can send out an email to their AZ community members with a picture, bio and contact information for the kitty.

  3. Just wanted to update you all at 4Paws on Tori (whom we adopted 2 days ago) Our daughter changed her name to Mia and she is a great addition to our family. We sought out a kitty for our previously adopted cat Jasper, and she was a perfect choice. The first day here she was eating, drinking and roaming around. Her and Jasper were very interested in one another but quite cautious. After the first night they seemed to play rather than just batting one another. Today they are both sleeping on the same bed and seem to have no problem at all. Mia (Tori) did cry the first night but as soon as I called for her she cuddled up in my bed :) She purs like crazy and I believe shes attached to our daughter. She follows her around everywhere and even lays beside the tub while kiddo is in the bathtub. Shes amazing! Thank you guys so much for allowing our Family to have 2 great kitties!

    • Hi Krystal, Adam, and Aislin,
Thanks so much for taking the time to update us! What wonderful news! We are thrilled to hear that Mia has settled in well and that you are enjoying her. I will print your email out and bring it to the adoption center for the other volunteers and staff members to see and celebrate. Wishing you the best with Jasper and Mia!

  4. have cat colony in my backyard – 3 kittens about 12 weeks old, two females about 1 year old, two males about 2-3 years old. Help!

    • Hi Jeana, Boy those kitties are sure fortunate to have you looking out for them. If the kitties are friendly and healthy, you are welcome to call the adoption center at 623-876-8778 to get on the waiting list, which is a few months long. You could also work on getting them spayed and neutered by calling the spay and neuter hotline. Here is a link to their website: http://www.adlaz.org/clinicmap and they currently have a grant to offer free spay/neuter assistance to people living in certain zip codes, and low cost spay/neuter assistance for all other zip codes. If the kitties are feral, you can borrow their traps to trap-neuter-release the kitties. If you would like to reach out to other rescues and shelters, check out http://www.petfinder.com and do a search for organizations in your area.

  5. Hi Mindi, if your dog is still lost, you are welcome to information and a picture on our facebook page. If you want to email a picture at 4PawsCats@gmail.com we can print it out and post it at the adoption center. Sending positive wishes your way.

    • Thanks so much for your interest in our rescued kitties. Half Pint is so lucky to have been chosen for adoption. Best wishes to you!
